You're a Sweetheart!

Hola Chicas!

I'm back from Cabo San Lucas, and boy did we have a fabulous time!  I won't bore you with the details, especially those that are under several feet of snow, but suffice it to say that this was by far the best vacation we've ever had!  Can't wait to go back!

STAMPS:  Heart Flourishes (Hero Arts), Scalloped Borders (Hero Arts), Valentine Sayings (Hero Arts)
INK:  Versamark (Tsukineko), Tuxedo Black (Memento)
PAPER:  Lemon Drop CS (Poptone), Orange Kitchen (A Muse), White CS (Neenah)
ACCESSORIES:  Heart Charm (Bunny Zoe Crafts), Piercing Tool and Mat Pack, Corner Rounder Punch, 3-D Dots (EK Success)

I'm glad to be back creating though . . . I was surprised at how much I missed it while I was gone.  I made this before I left, just in case I didn't have a chance to get my fingers inky right after we returned.  It was inspired by this sweet ribbon that I picked up on my last trip to the ribbon store.  I loved the non-traditional color scheme - don't you?!!  Under the ribbon, I've turned once again to my go-to set these days - Scalloped Borders - stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  Oh how I love those scalloped borders!!  And I finished it off with the Heart Flourishes background stamp - stamped in Versamark and heat embossed using Apricot Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Valentine Saying stamp set.  All highlighted supplies are from ABC Toys & Crafts - your one-stop shopping destination!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

You're so Special Card & Video on Flowers

Happy Monday to everyone!!! For todays post ive included a video to show how I designed the flowers with the Slice Machine!

On todays card I used the stamp for the background from the set Speckled Ornaments stamped it in 2 different colors. Next I used the sentiment from Truly Appreciated.

For my flower I used the Slice Machine and the card "Basic Elements" it comes with the Pink Slice machine!

The flowers are super fun and easy to make with the slice machine! I used dp, and cardstock to design my flower, also distressed with inks! the button is sewn on, and I added a bow to complete my card.

By clicking on items below they will take you to the ABC Toys and Crafts Store!

Sweetheart Challenge~~ Sweet Treat.

Happy Saturday to you all!!!
This week our super talented DT Co-ordinator Justine has challenge us with a sweet theme..
I love you....... "Sweetheart"
so here is some sweet treat for two DD..I really like the Milk carton style treat holders. It super easy to make , if you want to make one yourself for ABC Toys and Crafts 1st challenge..here is a template

You can resize it (  simply using Microsoft Word) ...I personally like clear treat holders a lot so cut the middle portion out and replaced it with acetate. I heat embossed the entire cardstock part of the treat holder using Hero Arts circle background stamp..its one of my faves and to finish this sweet treat I added a punched candy border with Martha Stewart Candy border punch.
The tag is the large heart stamp from Hero Arts Heart Trio set and sentiment is from Hero Arts Trees Birds Messages.
A quick and simple treat holder..it can be mass produced easily.
Today is the last day  to enter for ABC Design Blog's "I love you ...Sweetheart" challenge...in order to win a $10 gift voucher for ABC toys and Crafts ..please post a direct link to your project HERE.

Here are a few of the products that I used for my project:

Sweetheart Challenge, Sarah Kay "Can I tell you a Secret"

As you know, ABC Toys & Crafts is running its first challenge this week..."I love you......Sweetheart"  So I chose to use this fabulous Sarah Kay image called "Can I tell you a secret?"  I am so excited that ABC has decided to carry Stampavie and Sarah Kay stamps, I just love these little kids.

I began by making a side step card, I stamped the kids with Memento black ink onto Cryogen paper.  Copics used:
Boy's Jeans - B91
Patches - YR21, G40, BV11
Hair - E13, E19
Shoes - E33, E37
Girl's Dress & Bow - R21, R22
Shoes - C3, C5
Hair - E33
Skin - E000, E00, E02

Here is a scan of the card from the side, I love this fold.  It works great for displaying photos or as a gift card holder.

Well the card looked kind of lonely so I decided to make another candy holder.  For this I used QBee's Flower Pot Box template  I printed it on the back side of my card stock then just cut it out and added DP.  Very quick and oh so easy.

So get busy and enter the challenge for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store.  Good luck and thanks for stopping by.

Our ultra talented DT leader, Justine, challenged us this week to create a project with the theme,
I love you....'Sweetheart'!
Well, boy, did we have fun! Everyday this week the ABC girls have been showing some fun & fabulous creations here! But to add to the fun, we INVITE YOU to play along!!

Simply create a card or project with the theme -I love you....'Sweetheart' and enter it into Mr Linky!!! You could win an ABC Toys & Crafts store credit!!!! How cool is that?!

As you can see, I choose to run with the sweet-hearts part of the theme and make little treat boxes to hold these delicious foil covered chocolate hearts! Four candies fit in each box...I know because I carefully sorted and counted out how many I needed for giving and how many were left to gobble! lol Actually, I did share some with my 11 yr old son, but only because he was staring at me!

I hope you'll play along with us for a chance to win a "sweet treat" for yourself!!!
Hugs & Blessings!!

SWEETheart Challenge!

Dig out those "crimpers" ladies, dust them off because you are going to need them to make these super cute candy wrappers. The idea came from Stamping Inspiration
blog and are addictive to make! I started out making them for the Sweetheart Challenge at ABC Toys and Crafts and got so into it, I decided to make enough for my grandson to take to preschool for his Valentine's Day party!

They are incredibly simple and the possibilities are endless. I used a lot of scraps and old papers to create several different designs. To get the most "bang for your buck", it is best to use Kit Kat candy bars because you can get 4 wrappers out of one 12 x 12 piece of paper...of course they are super cute made with any of your favorite candy bars (I used Hersheys Regular, Cookies and Cream and Almond too). The container is just a little heart tin that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

To be eligible to win a $10 Prize at ABC Toys, create your own project with a "Sweetheart" theme and post on Mr. Linky found here

COMPLETE DETAILS:

STAMPS: Hero Arts
CARDSTOCK: Neenah, Bazzill
DESIGNER PAPER: Martha Stewart, Doodlebug, Scenic Route, and assorted others
INK: Memento
ACCESSORIES: Nestabilities, Kit Kat Candy Bars, Crimper, Sticky Tape, Martha Stewart Border Punches

Have a creative day!

Sweethearts Challenge - Day Two!

Hi Peeps!

As you read this, I'm sitting by the pool in Cabo San Lucas, sipping on drinks with little umbrellas, floating on my floatie and having the time of my life.

The ABC Toys & Crafts Design Team decided to pose a little challenge to each other and to you all to create some type of gift set or project for Valentine's Day - something for your Sweetheart.  I'd seen some really cute paper fortune cookies, and decided it'd be a fun little gift for my hubby.  Oh my gosh - I had so much fun making this up, and it was super easy!!  I didn't take any pictures while I was creating, but you can get the general gist of how to make these little sweeties HERE.  I kind of improvised by using my Circle Nestabilities to cut out the circles.  I also found that, depending on the thickness of the paper that you use, that you'll need to use really strong glue dots to keep them from popping open.

I stamped the sentiments onto different ribbons and twills using Staz-On, and then adhered them to each of the fortune cookies with another glue dot.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezie!  I had this clear take-out container in my "alterables" stash - I think you can pick them up at Michael's.

The little tag was made using - MY BRAND NEW PINK SLICE!!  Oh my gosh - people, why did it take me so long to get one of these babies?!!  ABC Toys & Crafts has them in stock, with FREE SHIPPING.  It comes with two design cards - this tag was on the Basic Elements card, and it's 4".  I can't wait to get back home to play some more with this little gadget.  With all the new accessories that Making Memories announced at CHA, I'm thinkin' this is going to be my new favorite toy.  Here's a comprehensive list of all the goodies I used for this fun little project:

STAMPS:  Valentine's Sayings (Hero Arts), So Sweet (Hero Arts)
INK:  Versamark, Jet Black Staz-On
PAPER:  Valentines DP (Martha Stewart), White CS (Neenah)
ACCESSORIES:  PINK SLICE (Making Memories), Basic Elements Design Card (Making Memories), Rouge Embossing Powder (Zing/American Crafts), Red Gingham Ribbon, White Sheer Ribbon, Pink and Raspberry Twill (Taylored Expressions), Glue Dots (K Company), Take Out Container, packaging shred, Valentine Candy (Dollar Store), Scalloped Border Punch (SU), Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders)

WANNA PLAY WITH US?  Create a project using the following theme:
I love you....... "Sweetheart"

No other requirements than to be creative and interpret "I love you....... Sweetheart"!!

Valentine Candy Totes

For today's post for ABC Toys and Crafts, I thought I would make a couple of candy totes using my Hugs and Kisses Hero Arts Cling stamp.

For my basket, I used the largest Spellbinders Heart Nestie dies and the center of my Hugs and Kisses stamp.  I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder on the plain heart panel.  I used 3D dots to raise the heart portion of the stamped image.

I used my Martha Stewart Doily Lace Border punch (30% off til 2/14) for an accent on the handle, adding ribbon down the center.  The handle is secured by brads on both sides.

You can make these baskets using any of the Spellbinders shapes.  They are quick and easy and lots of fun.

For my next tote, I created a treat bag cover.  Essentially, I just created a wrap for my bag of candy.  Using the left over circle from my Hugs and Kisses stamp, I punched a matching window in the card stock, added some acetate and wrapped it around the bag.

Here is a side view, you can see I scored the bottom so it would sit flat.  I added a piece of DP for some extra standing power.

I hope you enjoyed today's projects.  Be sure to check out the great new items at ABC Toys and Crafts.

Sweet Valentines

Happy Thursday! Today is my day to host, so I wanted to do a little something different today! I took one heart stamp (Inkakinkadoo/fancy heart) and used it for two different styles...

For my first card, I was inspired to use the colors of this cute ribbon, I found in my stash. I masked one image so they could 'cuddle' for this Valentine! The sentiment is from Hero Arts Clings/Happy Valentine's Day set!
For my second card, I used some textured paper and some scraps. The heart is embossed in brown. I used my fav MS trefoil heart punch to add a bit of interest to the bottom. I also added a little faux zig zag stitching...can you see it?

I bet you're thinking of even more ways to use this fancy heart! I love that we are only limited by our imaginations!!!

Well, I hope you liked my little heart cards today! I was able to fit 17 different challenges in for these two cards! Too fun!
Thank you for stopping by! Abundant Blessings to you!!!

CELEBRATE

This is one of my favorite House Mouse stamps. Typically I would see a mouse and RUN the other way, but how can you not love these little guys?!

Image is colored with Copics with a little shading dones with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. To create the cupcake "border", I first punched the top of my DP, then using solid green and pink, punched out more cupcakes and cut off the tops. Each one is then glued on to the top of the original border. I paper pieced the cupcake wrapper on the image to match the DP.

COMPLETE DETAILS:

STAMPS: House Mouse, TPC Studio (sentiment)
CARDSTOCK: Neenah, Bazzill
DESIGNER PAPER: Bo Bunny
INK: Memento, Copic Markers
ACCESSORIES: Nestablitlites, MM Brads, Ribbon, MS Cupcake Punch, Sakura Glue Pen, Ultrafine Glitter

Got a quick post for you today, as my girlie, Terri, is coming over to play and I need to get the house in order.  Yikes!

This card features some new Inkadinkadoo stamps that ABC Toys & Crafts just got in, and let me tell you - they are all gorgeous!  I'm especially liking this rose, as the detail in it is so fine and realistic.  I created this card for the last Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - ya know, the one where my other card was picked for TOP TEN!!  (Just thought I'd share that in case you missed it before - LOL)  I used lots of fun products on this baby, that I've listed for you below.
